The Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has implored residents who have attained voting age to participate in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise.
This initiative according to the Chairman is aimed at enabling youths (18 years and above) to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) , allow individuals with existing PVCs to address any complaint or issue and also ensure eligible voters exercise their civic rights during the election.
The Chairman maintained that sensitization and enlightenment campaign on voters’ registration Strengthened democracy at the grassroots level and empower citizens to shape their community’s future. He enjoined Community leaders, religious leaders, market men and women, youths and other community stakeholders to join in the enlightment campaign on the need for every individual who has attained voting age to have a PVC.
The Council Boss appealed to all concerned to troop out enmass for the registration exercise. He assured that the Local government Secretariat is fully secured and conducive for the Continous Voters Registration Exercise.
Meanwhile, the Council Boss has expressed his heart felt gratitude to all the residents of the local government and the state as a whole for their unflinching supports for the present administration in the state under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde. He assured that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that dividends of democracy are spread to all the nooks and crannies of the state.
Alh Adepoju reiterated that collection of PVC enables citizens to choose the candidate of their choice in the forthcoming election.
It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commisssion (INEC) has commenced the Continous Voters Registration (CRV) exercise in all INEC offices across the local government in the country since August 18,2025. The exercise will avail eligible voters who are yet to register to do so and those with complaints on their PVC to rectify them before the forthcoming general elections.
