In a bid to reduce security challenges in the State, the Kwara State Government has announced plans to harmonize the various local vigilante groups in the State.
The State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed made the disclosure at the monthly stakeholders meeting of the state chapter of APC on Saturday.
He noted that the vigilante groups will be under the supervision of the State command of the Nigerian Police Force.
Governor Ahmed said that the new arrangement is to ensure that the vigilantes work within the provisions of the law, and also to ensure the protection of lives and property at the local communities.
