Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has reportedly encouraged his international teammate, Ademola Lookman, to consider a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window.
Lookman, who only joined Spanish club Atlético Madrid from Atalanta during the winter transfer window after attracting interest from several top European clubs, is on the verge of leaving the team.
Since arriving at the Wanda Metropolitano, the Nigerian forward has adapted quickly to life in La Liga, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
Despite his impressive performances in Spain, speculation surrounding his future has continued to gather momentum, with reports linking him to a potential move to Turkish champions Galatasaray.
Such a transfer would see him reunite with fellow Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen, who has become a key figure at the Istanbul-based club.
According to reports from Fotomaç, Osimhen has personally urged Lookman to make the switch to Turkey, highlighting the strong sense of unity and family within the Galatasaray squad.
In quotes relayed via Habersarikirmizi, Osimhen reportedly said, “We are waiting for you at Galatasaray. Come and be a part of this family.”
Should the move materialise, Lookman’s arrival would significantly strengthen Galatasaray’s attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The former Everton winger could also be viewed as a potential replacement for Argentine forward Mauro Icardi, whose future at the club remains uncertain amid reports of a possible departure from Istanbul this summer.
