Galatasaray have reaffirmed their commitment to retaining Victor Osimhen, dismissing speculation linking the Nigeria forward with moves to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid ahead of the summer transfer window.
Club president, Dursun Özbek made the Turkish champions’ position clear, saying: “We didn’t buy Osimhen to sell him. We have a player who adds tremendous value to Galatasaray and who loves this club very much. We want him to serve Galatasaray for many years. Osimhen is also very happy at Galatasaray.”
Reports in Turkey indicate Atletico Madrid had a €120 million bid rejected by the club.
Osimhen, 27, joined Galatasaray permanently from Napoli following an initial loan spell and has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances. He has been instrumental in the club winning two Turkish Super Lig titles and a Turkish Cup.
Manager Okan Buruk has also previously played down talk of a departure, reinforcing the club’s stance on one of its most influential players.
