The Organising Committee of the Oluyole Amateur Open has officially unveiled plans for the 5th edition of the championship, scheduled to be held from 14 to 16 August 2026 at the prestigious Ibadan Golf Club, with over 150 amateur golfers and top corporate executives expected to converge on the Oyo State capital.

‎Speaking at the official media briefing in Ibadan, Tournament Convener Folarin Laosun, representing Openfield Properties & Management Ltd., developers of the Oluyole Golf & Country Estate, Moniya, Ibadan, said the fifth edition represents a major milestone for the championship, which has grown beyond sport to become a platform for economic engagement.

‎”The fifth edition of the Oluyole Amateur Open represents a major milestone in our journey. Over the years, the championship has continued to grow in stature, attracting outstanding amateur golfers and respected corporate partners from across Nigeria.

“Our vision remains to build a world-class amateur golf championship that promotes excellence, strengthens partnerships, and contributes meaningfully to sports tourism and economic development. We sincerely appreciate the confidence and support of our sponsors, partners, players, and the golfing community as we prepare for another memorable edition,” Laosun said.

‎According to the committee, the tournament has, in four previous editions, helped to showcase Ibadan as one of Nigeria’s leading golfing destinations while fostering corporate partnerships and youth development.

‎The finals will be followed by the Awards Presentation, where champions will be crowned. A major highlight is the Hole-in-One Challenge, with the winner set to drive home a brand-new Chery Tiggo 8 Pro courtesy of Carloha Nigeria, the tournament’s Official Automotive Partner.

‎The Organising Committee acknowledged a strong lineup of sponsors supporting the growth of amateur golf in Nigeria.

‎Among the sponsors are Openfield Properties & Management Ltd., Leadway Assurance, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Risevest, Mamuda Group, Shoreline Natural Resources Ltd., AMNI International Petroleum Development Company Limited, and CKROWD.

‎The Official Automotive Partner is Carloha Nigeria (Chery Nigeria), while the Official Healthcare Partner is Kasi Sports Healthcare.

Speaking for sponsors, Niyi Abiola, Head of Brand & Communications at Leadway Assurance, and Felix Mahan, General Manager, Marketing, at Carloha Nigeria, were among representatives present at the media briefing alongside officials of the Ibadan Golf Club and Openfield Properties.

‎Other dignitaries at the briefing included Engr. Oladapo Olaide, Competition Secretary, Ibadan Golf Club; Captain Joachim Akee, Captain, Ibadan Golf Club; M.O. Ojo, Past Captain; and Kayode Adebayo of Openfield Properties.

‎Since its inception, the Oluyole Amateur Open has attracted amateur golfers from across Nigeria and is now recognised for promoting sporting excellence, sports tourism, youth development, and strategic corporate partnerships.

‎With its fifth edition, the committee says it remains committed to delivering a world-class championship that blends competitive golf with premium hospitality and business opportunities.

‎Registration for amateur golfers and corporate guests is ongoing through the tournament secretariat and Ibadan Golf Club.
