The Oyo State Commissioner for Information Prince Dotun Oyelade has issued a statement advising the opposition to stop dissipating energy on trying to poach him from his party, the Allied People’s Movement (APM).

Specifically, the Commissioner referred to a telephone call put through to him last Thursday evening by the Director General of the APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Hon. Yemi Aderibigbe, and two other members, Messrs. Sina Alabi and Sola Ogunbode, seeking appointment with him for an urgent discussion.

Prince Oyelade said that as much as he respects the personalities and their political tendencies, it is important to discourage the gentlemen from raising the hopes of their camp about ‘catching another big fish.’

Apparently bolstered by their ‘Successes’ in sucking a few politicians to their fold, they should have known that this attempt will be a long shot.

We in the Seyi Makinde/Adekunmi political group are not up for grabs and will not be enticed or intimidated by financial inducement.

According to the commissioner, it is all about service and Spartan but effective governance. He said for two years cabinet members and many political office holders worked without official vehicles and other associated privileges because we were convinced about what Governor Makinde was doing with the state’s money.

Prince Oyelade advised the opposition not to throw money at every challenge or go with the impression that everybody has his price because if that is true, then the masses will suffer for it.

It is with this mindset that I publicly decline any meeting with the opposition unless the sole objective is to join the Seyi Makinde/Bimbo Adekanmbi winning team.
