Honourable Mojeed Olaoya, the scribe of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has stated that the aggrieved members of the party who recently left and formed a new platform called ‘Unity Forum’ are self-centred.
He stated this during an interview session on an Ibadan-based radio station, Fresh FM on Monday.
The party scribe further stated that the Unity Forum is made up of power hungry politicians who are only interested in power and will not allow others enjoy political dividends.
The honourable supported his claim with the example of a council chairman who he said had spent up to six years in office and refused to be made a commissioner. He explained that their claims of not being carried along are not authentic as some of the members of the forum were handpicked for the positions they occupied by the state’s Governor Abiola Ajimobi himself.
Olaoya confidently stated that the incumbent Governor of Oyo state will no doubt support the emergence of a capable successor that will ensure the smooth running of the state.
The former Oyo House of Assembly member used the recently concluded election in Ekiti as an example. He explained that even with the rampant distribution of incentives, the eligible voters still voted for the candidate they wanted, Dr Kayode Fayemi of APC.
