In a swift reaction to the series of unfounded allegations leveled against the Ajibewa Ruling House by the two other Ruling Houses in the Orin Ekiti Kingdom namely Famokiti and Olubunmo, Prince Ajibewa Samuel Abiodun from the Ajibewa Ruling House has said that those opposing the Ekiti State Government’s approval of Prince Ajibewa Oluwafemi Adeniran as the new Oba Elect for the Orin Ekiti Kingdom are trouble makers and enemies of progress of the ancient town.
Prince Ajibewa Samuel Abiodun, the spokesperson for the Ajibewa Ruling House while speaking with PMParrot in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday morning countered the Radio and Newspaper reports aired and published by the other two Ruling Houses.
“The spokesperson scolded both the Famokiti and Olubunmo Ruling Houses for failing to accept the outcome of the selection processes presided over by the Warrant Chiefs that produced the new Orin Ekiti Oba Elect in person of Prince Ajibewa Oluwafemi Adeniran in good fate. But, rather, decided to follow a dishonorable path by openly challenging the approval given to it by the Ekiti State Government at its State Executive Council Meeting held on June 11th, 2020”.
Prince Ajibewa Samuel Abiodun, the spokesperson for the Ajibewa Ruling House explained with dismay the hatred been displayed by both the Famokiti and Olubunmo Ruling Houses in connivance with some selected few has been on for the Ajibewa Family for over 51 years.
He noted that the claim that the Ajibewa Family is not a Ruling House in Orin Ekiti is a lie taken too far by both the Famokiti and Olubunmo Ruling Houses who are deliberately distorting established facts and truth.
Prince Samuel pointed out, that, the claim by both Famokiti and Olubunmo Ruling Houses that the government gazette which recognised the Ajibewa Family as a Ruling House in Orin Ekiti was not signed by the Kingmakers is a charade and that such statement made by them in their widely reported press conference held on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti are not expected from reasonable figures. He asked: “when does non-signing of a government gazette by private individuals and not government officials make a gazette to become invalid? That the Kingmakers refused to sign a document such as a government gazette cannot render it invaluable”.
Records of the Ekiti State Government Gazette dated June 3rd, 1999 at the time Navy Captain Musibau Atanda Yussuff was the Military Administrator of Ekiti State made available to PMParrot indicated that the order for the commencement was dated 23rd April, 1997. The gazette gives only due recognition to three Ruling Houses namely Famokiti, Olubunmo and Ajibewa.
Prince Ajibewa Samuel Abiodun explained “that the Kingmakers who refused to sign the gazette are not the law or the court. They are not the Judiciary Arm of government that the Nigerian constitution empowers to challenge the decision of the Executive Arm of the Government. The decisions of the government can only be challenged in the court with a competent jurisdiction and not in the media. It cannot also be challenged by been adamant, stubborn, stiff-necked or being hellbent. He posited further that the Famokiti and Olubunmo Ruling Houses should go and rest and stop bothering themselves over an issue that they have already completely lost out”, he declared.
Prince Samuel berated the attitudes of those behind the evil plot and agenda to stampede and deny the Ajibewa Family the legitimate right to have a benefit of equally having their Son as a King on the throne of Olorin of Orin Ekiti. He called such an idea as a primitive one which is long overdue to be guillotined.
Prince Samuel used the opportunity to assure the good people of Orin Ekiti that the time of the new Oba Elect, Prince Ajibewa Oluwafemi Adeniran would bring unprecedented growth and development to Orin Ekiti Kingdom. He equally appealed to those fanning the embers of war and hatred against the incoming King to change their attitude and way of life and turn a new leave.
He expressed in full confidence that the time of Oba Ajibewa Oluwafemi Adeniran as the Olorin of Orin Ekiti Kingdom would witnessed tremendous success and outstanding progress in the Orin Ekiti community. He counseled those still sitting on the fence to forget the past and cross over to the side of the new King and join hands with him to realised the vision and good plans he is bringing to bear on the community to move it forward and to greater heights with remarkable results.
