A former Commissioner in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, has advised the state’s residents to embrace tolerance, love and peaceful co-existence that the Christmas season symbolizes.

The Ibadan North-East born Grassroots Politician and Chartered Accountant, gave the advice in his Christmas message signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday 24th.

He urged Oyo state residents to seize the moment to reach out to others who were in distress at this period.

He said despite the COVID 19 pandemic and economic challenges, people must continue to strive for progress.

Adekanmbi said “The season of Christmas is one that exemplifies the virtues of love and peaceful co-existence.

“We must continue to extend our hands of love and benevolence, living as one family irrespective of our religion, ethnicity or gender.

“We must also continue to respect each other’s right to live freely and peacefully.

“The period of Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the symbol of Christianity and the harbinger of peace, love and good tidings.

“There is no better way to celebrate the season than by showing love and being our brother’s keeper.

“Let us cultivate the habit of giving to those who need our help at this time; it would go a long way to put smile on their faces.” Adekanmbi concluded.

Bimbo Adekanmbi is a former commissioner for Finance and Budget in Oyo state and he is from Ibadan North East local government.
