Abiodun’s Govt Screens, Vaccinates Intending 2023 Hajj Pilgrims

As part of the State Government’s commitment to ensuring healthy living among intending pilgrims during Hajj, the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, has started a 4-day medical screening, vaccination and enlightenment for its intending pilgrims, in order to have a smooth pilgrimage.

Addressing them at the Arcade ground, Governor’s office Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda, noted that the exercise was to know their health status and to give necessary advice.

Salau enjoined the participants to cooperate with the medical team to achieve good results at the end of the exercise, adding that it was carried out for their welfare.

Speaking, the Head of Medical team, Dr. Rabiu Kushimo, urged intending pilgrims to open up to the team on whatever ailments they are having, advising them to always drink water when they get to Saudi Arabia due to the hot weather and ensure that they take drugs prescribed to them consistently.

In his submission, Superintendent of Immigration, Mr. Kazeem Adeniyi highlighted some of the importance of the Nigerian Passport to them, saying the passport with the National Identification Number (NIN) and the old one serves the same purpose.

In her lecture, the National Dawah Officer, Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), South West, Alhaja Tawakalitu Oderinde, advised women to dress moderately, have the fear of God and knowledge about Hajj before embarking on the journey.

In their separate remarks, some of the intending pilgrims, Mr. Rasak Muritala and Mrs. Falilat Adeosun, said the exercise was worthwhile, as it would enable them to be in good health before embarking on the pilgrimage.
