The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Right Honourable (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole has charged Christians in the nation, particularly in Ekiti State, to seize the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration to move closer to God, so as to obtain favour and get out of the current economic crisis.

Pastor Oluwawole, in an Easter message released through his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, on Saturday, noted that the period of Christ’s death and resurrection was that which people could use to seek the face of God concerning all difficulties.

He also urged the faithful to be conscious of the fact that the Lord, Jesus Christ, died for them to be saved, admonishing them not to indulge in acts capable of making it look like He died in vain, while the festivities lasted and beyond.

“According to the Speaker, “there is no doubt that the country is going through a difficult time. But the advent of Easter has given us a golden opportunity to seek the face of God. Christians should know that the Supreme Price our Lord paid must not be allowed to be in vain over us.

“While I congratulate our brothers and sisters all over the nation, particularly in Ekiti State and its environs, on this auspicious occasion, I need to beseech us to use this period when God answers prayers to remember our ailing nation and president.

“We also need to be moderate in celebration as the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ signals the onerous price paid to secure our future in heaven; we must not lose sight of this.

“We as Christians should understand that we remain the torch-bearers in the effort to drag this nation out of the woods. We need to be more prayerful now than ever.”

Oluwawole urged the people of the state, both Christians and Muslims alike, as well as people of other faiths to continue to support and pray for the Ayodele Fayose-lead authorities in the state.
