The Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) Oyo State, Mrs Dolapo Dosumu has lauded the achievements of a Lawmaker representing Ibadan South East Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige in the last two years.

Mrs Dolapo Dosumu gave this commendation in her remarks at a town hall meeting organised by her agency in collaboration with Konrad Adeneur Stiftung for House of Assembly members as a platform to give accounts of their stewardship to members of their constituencies held at Ibadan Grammar School hall, Molete, Ibadan.

Mrs Dosumu who observed that from all the previous meetings so far held, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige’s account of stewardship has lengthy records of achievements and is well coordinated and fully attended by members of his constituency who did not only come to listen but also to testify to his performance with letters of appreciation from beneficiaries from various communities present at the meeting.

She added that despite the fact that constituency projects were not part of the functions of a Lawmaker, Hon. Ige has combined the job of the executive arm to his legislative duty with the physical infrastructures he has put in place for his constituency area.

While presenting the details of his stewardship/legislative duties at the meeting, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige explained that he has embarked upon many infrastructures like construction of bridges, modern toilets, boreholes and drainages. He also supplied school furniture, carried out street lighting projects, health centres, police station as well as giving out financial/economic empowerment to various individuals, communities and groups in the last two years.

Hon. Ige stressed further that he has equally sponsored bills and motions that have had direct bearing on the lives of the citizens of his constituency and Oyo State in general.

He, however, used the occasion to express his immense gratitude to his political party, Accord, for giving him the opportunity to contest during the last election and for the support it gave him before, during and after the last election. He also appreciated traditional rulers, religious leaders, market men and women, non-governmental organizations, youth group, traders, transporters, artisans, security agencies, journalists, representatives of other political parties and well wishers that attended the meeting.

He called on the present administration in the state to ensure the completion of all abandoned roads in his constituency which include Labo,  Eleta, Academy Owode and others so as to alleviate the sufferings of motorists plying these roads.

He also appealed to the authority of Ibadan south LCDA on the need to rehabilitate Adeyemo-Osungbade Odo Oba link road, Ibuko Olorunsogo Molete road, as well as Felele Rab that links the Lagos-Ibadan express way as a matter of urgency to alleviate the sufferings of the people in the area and also called on the Commissioner of Police in the State to put  adequate security measures in place for the residents of the entire constituency to protect them from armed robbers that have been terrorising the area in recent times.
