A member of Osun House of Assembly, Mr. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has noted that development of rural communities through empowerment will go a long way to alleviate poverty in the society.

Oyintiloye , who is the House Committee Chairman on Information and Strategy made the remarks during an empowerment programme he organised for farmers,  Artisans,  widow and aged  at  Ilare-Ijesa in  Obokun East Local Council Development Area.

The lawmaker said no amount of support is little to move people from one level of vulnerability to another stressing that contributing positively to the development of his immediate constituency was his priority.

“No matter the economic challenges, I will continue to strive to give back to the people who have reposed their confidence in him and elected as their representative,” he promised.

Over 158 farmers were given farm inputs such as cutlasses,  sprayers,  herbicides, among others.

Also, more than 62 widows as well as 93 aged were empowered with money and  clothing while 358 artisans were empowered with various working tools.
