“I thank God for my mother Aishatu Adeogun of blessed memory. Well, I also thank God I had a mother who people believe I took after in terms of physical appearance.  I remember that my mother never spared the rod while bringing me up. She was an illiterate, she never knew the value of education, but God inspired me to take myself to school. Along the line, the teachers would beat me mercilessly because they knew nobody brought me to school and they would then send for her to come and take me back home. I insisted on going to school. Of course, I also remember my mother was very strict and was a disciplinarian and she did not spare the rod to ensure that I was properly brought up.”
