Hon. Abioye Mathew Adegboyega, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket to contest the OgoOluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency in the 2019 general elections.

Elder Tunde Babalola, the returning Officer of the primary election held on Thursday said Hon. Abioye Mathew Adegboyega polled 107 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Peter Oyetunji who got four votes.

Hon. Oyetunji is a current serving honourable member of the Oyo State House of Assembly that represents OgoOluwa/Surulere State Constituency.

Some delegates who spoke after the election explained that they decided to elect Hon. Abioye having been tested before and is trusted, adding that he had represented them well when he was a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2015.

They added that the constituency had been very unlucky in the past because those that have been representing them at the lower chamber of the National Assembly have nothing to show for it, hence, their decision to try another personality.

Hon. Abioye in his acceptance speech appreciated the people for the opportunity given him to represent the party in the coming general elections.

He assured them of adequate and quality representation if he eventually wins during the general election.
