The football team of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC FC, Sunday April 28, 2019 defeated Setraco FC 1-0 to lift this years’ final of the FCT AITEO CUP.
By this remarkable feat, the EFCC FC will be representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at the national level. The winning goal was scored by the club’s captain, Icha Emmanuel.
Before Sunday’s duel, the EFCC mesmerized Defense Striker, 6-0 in the round of 16, went ahead to defeat Casmat FC 4-0 in the quarter final and stung Supreme Court FC 1-0 in the semi final.
Chairman of the EFCC FC, Halilu Dauda in a short remark after the match said, “The EFCC is fighting the corruption battle in all fronts, sports inclusive. This is in line with the dream of the acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu to leave no stone unturned in the fight against corruption”.
Mohammed Saleh, Secretary, EFCC FC, who commended the fighting spirit of the players throughout the tournament, said that while the match was ongoing, staff of the Commission were mobilised to disseminate anti-corruption messages to spectators.
