The publisher of Parrot Xtra Magazine and PMParrot.com, Mr Olayinka Agboola, on behalf of his media outfit has congratulated the management and staff of African Newspapers, the publishers of Nigerian Tribune Newspaper on the successful hosting of their 70th Anniversary.

Agboola, in a statement over the weekend thanked God on behalf of the media house for the sustenance of the business concern in the past 70 years.

Said Agboola, who was also a point in his journalistic sojourn a member of staff of the media outfit “I am always proud to be associated with Nigerian Tribune because it is a place where discipline and fairness reign. This is perhaps why it has remained the longest surviving privately owned newspaper house in this part of Africa.

“With our 16 years’ experience in the business of publishing, I can also say here that Tribune’s survival in the past 70 years is not a small feat. I am full of joy that we are all witnesses to what the media conglomerate has been able achieve in terms of being at the fore-front of positive campaign for Nigeria’s progress.

“On a personal note, I will say that the Parrot Project would have died on arrival if not for the tutelage and ‘pep talks’ we got from the successive managements of the publishing outfit. We printed our earlier editions there. I must thank late Elder Oluwole Awolowo, Pastor Segun Olatunji, Barrister Dapo Ogunwusi, Dr Abiodun Raufu, Edward Dicson, Debo Abdullahi and several others for the great support they gave and are still giving us.”
