African economist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu came out to celebrate his darling wife, Dr Awele Vivien Elumelu as she turned fifty years on Tuesday.
The Chairman of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria, who married the beautiful medical doctor in 1993, wrote a heart warming message on his official twitter handle to celebrate Awele on her birthday.
“Happy Birthday Darling Awele. My Queen is 50 Red heart Purple heart,” Elumelu, who is also the Chairman of Heirs Holdings and United Bank for Africa (UBA) wrote on his twitter handle.
Tony and Awele, who are sometimes referred to as “Africa’s Power Couple” in recognition of their work empowering African entrepreneurs, are blessed with seven children.
Unknown to many people, as rich and prominent as Tony is, he is equally romantic and a family man to the core as he usually refers to his wife, who is the Chairperson of Avon Healthcare Limited and CEO of Avon Medical Services Limited, as his WCE (Woman Crush Everyday).
Dr. Awele, who is a trustee in Tony Elumelu Foundation, and her husband are passionate about empowering African entrepreneurs and in 2010, they committed $100million to empower 10,000 African entrepreneurs in 10 years through the Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Programme.
