One of the leaders of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagelu Local Government and Chairman of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, Arc. Hassan Giwa has urged members of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State and the teeming supporters of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state not to be discouraged over the recent Federal Appeal Court ruling.
He disclosed that what Oyo ALGON needs at this point is the support by every member to reclaim their mandate at the Supreme Court.
Giwa made the disclosure while reacting to the judgment of the Federal Appeal Court between the Oyo State government and ALGON delivered on Tuesday.
According to the statement signed and made available to journalists by the HOG Foundation Chairman, Arc. Giwa, “in its judgment, Federal Appeal Court decided to discount the merit of the evidence before it, which showed that Oyo ALGON had a good case, but I have confidence that justice will be served on the merit of the case by the Supreme Court.
“Justice on any matter is based on the weight of evidence before a court. The failure by the Appeal Court to consider key and essential ingredients of evidence before it on their merit, amounted to a frustration of the course of justice in the matter,” he said.
Giwa, while urging the teeming members of APC and ALGON members not to despair over the judgment, tasked them to remain calm and prayerful, as justice will definitely be served at the Supreme Court.
He also called on the leadership of the party in the state not to relent in its effort to ensure unity that prevails among the party members to fight the course to a logical end.
