Flurry of Tributes For Departed College Provost In Ekiti

Rain of tributes poured in memory of former Provost of the College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, Professor Francisca Aladejana, as management and staff members of the newly upgraded institution,  Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere Ekiti paid glowing tributes to the departed Administrator on Monday June 21st, 2021, at the school’s Campus.

Speaking, the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Victor Adeoluwa, commended the former Provost for her numerous achievements during her stint at the defunct College of Education, Ikere Ekiti while praising the late Professor for her doggedness, and unrelenting efforts towards the successful upgrading of the institution to university status.

Professor Adeoluwa further described the late Professor as an astute administrator, kindhearted woman whose priority was on how to make life comfortable for people.

“If you go round the campus now, you will see pockets of infrastructures she built at the time she was the Provost of the defunct College of Education, Ikere Ekiti”.

Speaking further, the University’s Society of the Academia in a statement commended the late don for her influence and achievement during her time in the institution while urging others to emulate her good works.

“We try our best to sympathize with her family and the academic circle. We therefore propose that for our own inspiration and consolation at this solemn assembly rejoice as we reflect upon the life and times of Professor Francisca Aladejana, who offered to us an example of a life lived beautifully, productively, and brilliantly in the service of humanity”.

In this same vein, speaking on behalf of the Women of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere Ekiti, Mrs. Felicia Obadare, eulogized the late don for leaving an outstanding legacy behind during her time on earth.  She said, “When she was alive, she proved that women’s education should not end in the kitchen”.

Obadare who further extolled the virtues of the late Provost, recalling how she encouraged other women staff members in the defunct college to excel through regular participation in international conferences among others.
