Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has advised one of his mentees, Nigeria International striker, Victor Osimhen never to join big-spending French Ligue 1 side, Paris Saint Germain (PSG), adding a big money move to the French Ligue 1 side might not translate to a successful transfer.

The 25-year-old Napoli striker is regarded as one of the hottest properties in in Europe presently as he scored his 26th goals from 31 matches across all competitions this season aside his five goals in four matches in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers for the Super Eagles.

Linked to several big clubs in Europe including Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United, Osimhen recently hinted that his priority was ‘staying put’ with Napoli but Drogba has forewarned the former Lille striker not to even touch PSG with a long pole should he consider a move away from the Stadio Maradona.

According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, via TEAMtalk, Osimhen has ‘one eye’ on Manchester United even as he confirmed on-going possible transfer talks about the Nigerian star at both Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

“If he (Osimhen) is really in the sights of a club like PSG,” Drogba was quoted as saying in an interview with Canal Plus. “It shows the full extent of his talent and the season he is having. “But PSG is not the club he needs to continue his progress.”

Meanwhile, a Chelsea’s Champions League exit was confirmed on Tuesday night , the London club is reportedly firming up offers to bring in more firepower in the shape of Osimhen in the Summer.

Speaking on the Talking Transfers podcast, insider Graeme Bailey has claimed the Blues are eyeing a potential summer swoop for Napoli’s €130m-€150m-rated (£114m-£132m) Osimhen :”I think Victor Osimhen will be that marquee signing for Chelsea and we were talking off-pod about all the issues Chelsea have, but I think a lot of ills will be cured by Osimhen. I think he’ll come in, he’ll be that number nine, you can build a team around him.

“I don’t see how Chelsea get outbid by anyone for Osimhen. You know, he’s been linked to Bayern Munich. He’s been to Manchester United, from what I understand, I don’t think Chelsea will be beaten for him. I think they’ll go to €150m (£132m) for him if they have to.”

“I think Osimhen and Chelsea is a complete no-brainer. And they’re confident about getting him,” he added.
