While his Portuguese side Boavista were unable to register a win in two games last month, Nigeria international, Chidozie Awaziem remained impressive for the club and his fine performance has seen him nominated for the Player of The Month award for October.

So far this season, the 26-year-old defender has made nine appearances for the Portuguese topflight outfit. During the month under review, Boavista played two league games and one cup game with the Nigerian featuring in all three matches.

His first game in October for Boavista was against Moreirense, where he featured for the entire 90 minutes and helped his side earn a point away from home. Awaziem had a rating of 6.9 after registering six clearances, one tackle, and 70 touches. Despite being on the losing end as his side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sporting last weekend, Awaziem, per Sofascore, had a decent rating of 6.7.

The former Porto man also registered three clearances, three interceptions and two tackles. He also had 64 touches and won four of his six duels His side’s only victory was against Oliveirense in the Taça De Portugal where they registered a 3-1 win away from home.

Boavista currently sit in sixth place on the Portugal Liga table with 15 points after nine games. They play Rio Ave at the Vila do Conde this weekend and Awaziem will hope to continue his fine form for the club as they seek to win their fifth game of the season.
