The Chairman  of Ibadan  Northwest Local Government, Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju  has congratulated  Muslim faithful  across  the globe on this year’s Eid el kabir celebrations urging  them to imbibe  the lessons  of  total submission  and obedience  to the will of Almighty  Allah.

This was contained in his goodwill message  to mark the Eid el kabir  celebrations.

According  to  the Council Boss, Eid ul Adha is the Holy Islamic festival  to commemorate  the obedience  and devotion  of Prophet  Ibrahim  to  Allah and his readiness to sacrifice  his son, hence, Muslims  should  ensure that they truly imbibe  the virtues  of Prophet  Ibrahim  who in obedience  to  God’s directive was willingly ready  to sacrifice his only son in fulfillment  of his promise to Allah.

The Chairman added that beyond the sacrifice, Muslims should not relent in praying for peace,  unity and religious  tolerance  which are essential to sustaining  the glory of  the Nation. He further charged all and sundry to promote  and spread  love among one another  in order  to consolidate  the nations unity.

The Chairman further congratulated  His Excellency,  Engr Oluwaseyi Makinde  on this year’s Eid el kabir  festival. He likened the selfless  services  and fulfillment of campaign  promises of the Governor  to  that of  Prophet Ibrahim  who inspite of all odds  fulfilled  his promise  to Almighty Allah.

Alh Adepoju prayed to Allah to reward His Excellency bountifully  and preserve everyone to witness many of Eid el kabir  festivals  in years to come.

The  Council Boss also charged the well to do in the society  to be cheerful givers  during the festive period. He reiterated that they should endeavor to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged. He said “no matter how little, let the needy around  you feel the waves of the festive  season”.
