The founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, Arc Hassan Giwa has charged the youth in the country to prioritize their aims and objectives in life.

Arc Giwa, in his message to commemorate the 2024 International Youth Day, congratulated youths in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria at large on the occasion of this year’s edition.

He maintained that the importance of youth in nations’ development cannot be undermined, saying that the youth possess energy, creativity and passion to bring positive development to their respective societies.

Urging them to remain focused and be determined to their set goals and objectives in life, the HOG Foundation founder reminded them of their prowess to foster innovation, progress and social transformation.

Speaking on the theme of this year’s edition of International Youth Day ‘From Click to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development’, Arc Hassan Giwa urged the Nigerian youths to focus, delve and prioritize on positive aspect of technology that will bring about positive development to their life, environment and society at large.

“I want to join millions of people all over the world to lend my voice in congratulating the youth especially in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria in general on the occasion of this year’s International Youth Day. It is important to remind them of their importance to the nation’s development and also to urge them to remain focused and determined to the aims and objectives in life.

“In line with this year’s theme according to the United Nations, ‘From Click to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development’, I want to appeal to our youths to focus on the aspects of technology that will improve their ability and productivity in their choice of career and prioritize it to bring about meaningful development. There are many pathways in technology; pathway to progress and pathway to destruction. They should choose the one that will make their families proud of them,” Arc Hassan Giwa said.

The Founder of HOG Foundation also charged governments at all levels to create an enabling environment and opportunities for youths to thrive in their choice of professions.

He noted that the present atmosphere in the country cannot bring out the best in them; rather, it will contribute to the increasing crime rate since an idle hand is a devil’s workshop.

International Youth Day is an initiative of the United Nations to create awareness, draw attention to cultural and legal issues surrounding the youth. It is celebrated on August 12 every year.
