Indications have shown that motivations enhance excellent performance and efficient productivity, thus Ogun State Government, through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has honoured another batch of outstanding and innovative students with cash awards.
Receiving the learners in Abeokuta, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, reiterated the commitment of the Prince Dapo Abiodun‘s administration towards promoting academic excellence, saying government’s investment in education had been yielding results through excellent performance of the learners, especially from flagship schools.
One of the learners at “Build-a-Thon” camping programme in October, 2023, Ayodele Babalola, from Acts of the Apostles Grammar School, Iperu Remo, who built a replica of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) which dispenses cash instantaneously, was appreciated for his innovation, with a promise to present him to the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for further acknowledgement.
Also, two students, Ibunkunoluwa Afolabi and Sarah Adelakun, from Anglican Grammar School, Okenla, Ifo and Ebenezer Grammar School, Abeokuta, respectively, were Second Overall Best Senior and Junior Categories correspondingly, at the 2024 National Competition of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), were also commended for making the state proud.
Meanwhile, Prof. Arigbabu, while receiving 50 cartons of pens, donated to both public primary and secondary schools in Ogun State by BIC company, commended the organisation for supporting the government in its policy of providing quality and accessible education.
The Commissioner enjoined others in the society to take a cue from individuals, associations and organisations extending hands of support to government with infrastructural interventions and academics materials to schools, to enable the state sustain its education legacy.
Speaking earlier, the Commercial Director of BIC in Nigeria, Mr. Adeyemi Ojo, appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for maintaining the standard in education, medicine, accounting, art and theatre and agriculture sectors, promising the company’s partnership with government in its policy of rewarding outstanding learners, schools and teachers.
Mr. Adeyemi said BIC is a manufacturing company that produces writing materials for the advancement of learners, saying the organisation has impacted on two hundred million lives across Africa, even outside the classroom, with the aim of ensuring success for all.
