Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa has charged Muslim in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria at large to prioritize the actions and behaviors that will promote good governance.
Arc Giwa said that every citizen irrespective of status has a role to play in the growth and development of the country, this by championing actions that will promote justice, fairness, principled order and compliance of rights and responsibilities in the society as it is established in the Holy Quran.
Asiwaju Adini gave the advice in his message on the occasion of this year’s Maolud Nabiyy, which marks the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammed (SWT).
Arc Giwa urged the people in positions of authority in the country to take a clue from the leadership style of Prophet Muhammed (SWT), a messenger of almighty Allah, who characterized good governance on the principles of rule of law, accountability, transparency, justice and equity.
He appealed to them to give priority to the policies that will alleviate poverty in the land and make life worth living for all irrespective of religion, ethnic, cultural and social background.
Asiwaju, who is the founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, also implored the people to play their role in ensuring good governance by showing commitment, get involved and belief in the system.
The renowned philanthropist also appealed to them not to relent in their prayer for the leaders and country in particular, as well as maintaining peaceful coexistence among the people.
“The major importance of Maolud Nabiyy is to use the period to recount on the lifestyle of Prophet Muhammed to adjust our own and strengthening the ties with our fellow Muslim and maintain peaceful coexistence with others.”
