The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has reaffirmed its confidence in the leadership of former Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Adegboyega Oyetola, while pledging to mobilise one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The resolutions were reached at an expanded APC stakeholders’ meeting held to review the outcome of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election and chart a new course for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

At the meeting, a motion for a vote of confidence in Oyetola’s leadership was moved by Hon. Kamil Oyedele, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Orolu and Irepodun Local Government Areas, and seconded by Hon. Oyetunji Agunbiade.

The motion was endorsed by the stakeholders, who expressed confidence in Oyetola’s leadership, experience and commitment to the progress of the party in the state.

The stakeholders also renewed their support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, declaring their determination to mobilise voters across Osun and work towards delivering one million votes for the President in 2027.

Speaking at the meeting, the APC candidate in the 2026 Osun governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, called for peace, unity and genuine reconciliation within the party.

He urged members and leaders to put the outcome of the election behind them and focus on rebuilding the party’s structures and strengthening its chances ahead of the 2027 elections.

Oyebamiji urged party members and leaders to put the outcome of the 2026 election behind them and concentrate on rebuilding the party into a stronger and more united political family.

He stressed that the APC must resolve its internal differences, strengthen its grassroots structures and ensure that every member feels valued and carried along.

According to him, unity within the party remains critical to the success of the APC in the 2027 elections, particularly in the effort to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Osun State.

In his separate remarks, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Governor of Osun State, Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, expressed confidence in the future of the APC, assuring party leaders and stakeholders that the party still has a genuine opportunity to reclaim its strength and achieve electoral victory.

Oyetola acknowledged the challenges confronting the party and emphasised the need for members to learn from the outcome of the 2026 governorship election rather than allow the result to create permanent divisions within the party.

He called for total reconciliation with aggrieved and angry members, stressing that every effort must be made to bring everyone back into the fold.

The Minister urged party leaders, stakeholders and members to embrace forgiveness, dialogue and unity, noting that the APC cannot afford to enter the 2027 election divided.

He maintained that with genuine reconciliation, strategic mobilisation and a renewed commitment to the party’s ideals, the APC has a strong chance of achieving its objectives in Osun State.

The stakeholders’ meeting therefore ended with a renewed call for unity, reconciliation and collective responsibility, as party leaders and members resolved to rebuild the APC from the grassroots and work together towards delivering a decisive victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Osun State in 2027.
