What could be an unbelievable but true story happened in Winter Park, Florida, in United State of America, as police escorted a Black three-year-old boy and his family from a local i9 Sports league youth soccer field after opposing parents complained that he was dominating games against five-year-olds.
The boy, known as Nevada, reportedly scored 10 goals in one game despite being substituted several times during the roughly 30-minute match, and he and his parents were subsequently barred from the venue following complaints about their son’s playing style, and his parents say they were told they could no longer return to the field and later received a refund for their autumn league registration.
Videos of him dribbling past older children spread across social media on Sunday, 25 October, alongside footage documenting his family’s dispute at the field.
Nevada’s father claimed police were called because his son repeatedly kept possession of the ball. In a circulating video, he claims they ‘called the police on a 3-year-old because he had too much of the ball. Nevada’s mother also confronted adults discussing her son, insisting ‘he isn’t doing anything but playing soccer.
The parents claim opposing families had complained about Nevada’s performance throughout the season, particularly his ability to keep the ball away from older players. During one match, he was reportedly substituted several times but still managed to score 10 goals. Adults in the footage can also be heard questioning his playing style, with some suggesting his dominance was unfair to the other children.
The family claims the dispute escalated when they were told they could no longer return to the venue. Officers then escorted them away from the field in front of the children. Although the family believes complaints about Nevada’s performance prompted the police involvement, the reason officers were called has not been confirmed.
