The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ‘swept’ all the chairmanship and councillorship seats in all the 30 local government areas of Osun State.
The Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC), Hashim Abioye, announced the result at a briefing on Saturday in Osogbo.
Osun Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke shortly after voting commended the electoral process and the good people of Osun for maintaining a peaceful and orderly atmosphere at polling units across the state.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) boycotted the poll after the Appeal Court reinstated chairman elected on its platform in 2023.
The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) also advised the State Government not to proceed with the exercise saying it would be illegal.
The Police also advised against the poll but the State Government proceeded with the exercise with only PDP participating.
