As the 2025 Hajj exercise came to a close, an Iwo-based Islamic Scholar and Director of Inaayatullahi Travels and Tours Limited, Ductuur Sirajudeen Bilaal Al-Asrau, has cautioned Nigerian pilgrims to remain steadfast in their faith and avoid practices that contradict Islamic teachings.
Speaking with Ayekooto 88.3 FM’s correspondent in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, Ductuur Bilaal Al-Asrau warned pilgrims against using their Ihraam garments for superstitious or un-Islamic practices upon returning home.
He condemned recent misleading information shared by an acclaimed cleric to Osun State pilgrims in Mina, Saudi Arabia, where the cleric reportedly instructed pilgrims to Tawaf (circumambulate) their Ihraam garments to solve personal problems.
Describing the act as Bidah, an innovation in religion, Ductuur Bilaal emphasized that the Ihraam cloth holds no spiritual significance after Hajj, and such practices contradict the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In a separate final lecture organized by Inaayatullahi Travels and Tours to mark the conclusion of this year’s pilgrimage, Ductuur Bilaal urged all pilgrims to uphold humility, generosity, and total obedience to Allah’s commandments beyond the holy journey.
He further encouraged pilgrims to embody the true values of Islam, including regular observance of the five daily prayers, moral discipline, tolerance, and support for fellow Muslims, as part of the symbiotic relationship expected within the global Islamic community.
He concluded by advising intending pilgrims to always seek proper guidance from genuine Islamic scholars before undertaking Hajj in the future.
