The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, HRM Oba Francis Alao has joined other great Nigerians to celebrate conservationist and clinical psychologist, Dr. Josef Onoh on his birthday.

Onoh, who is also an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Enugu State, is well known for his commitment to national development and democratic ideals .

Oba Alao, in a heartfelt birthday congratulatory message, described Onoh as a man who has made remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s development.

The monarch saluted Onoh’s unwavering dedication to public service, his visionary leadership and tireless efforts in advancing national progress, which he said are leaving indelible marks on Nigeria

He urged him to sustain his legacy in the new year as he enjoys God’s grace and mercy

The message read: “On behalf of my family, and the good people of Orile-Igbon, I extend heartfelt congratulations on this occasion of your birthday. This special day offers us a moment to celebrate not only your life but also your remarkable contributions to the development of our nation, Nigeria

Dr. Josef Umunnakwe Onoh is a wildlife conservationist born and raised in Scotland, United Kingdom. He is a former member of the Enugu State House of Assembly (2003–2007), where he served as the House Committee Chairman on Finance and Appropriation. He later held various advisory roles under former Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, including Senior Special Adviser on Special Projects, Commissioner in the Office of the Governor, and Executive Chairman of the Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (2019–2023).

Onoh has been politically active, initially with the Grassroot Democratic Movement and the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) before joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He later moved to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and served as the Southeast campaign spokesman for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections. He founded the Asiwaju Renewed Mandate Southeast (ARMSE) in 2024 to support Tinubu’s agenda.

Onoh founded the Woodland Park, a privately funded zoological facility and wildlife charity trust in Enugu, reflecting his passion for conservation influenced by his mother and Sir David Attenborough. He is a member of the Institute of Hospitality in the United Kingdom and has worked in the private sector, including as Executive Director of Eastern Bottlers (2000–2002).
