The Oyo South Senatorial District aspirant, Hon. Oluwafemi Adebayo Fowokanmi, has congratulated Christians on the occasion of the Easter celebration.
Hon. Fowokanmi, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, joined fellow Christians worldwide to commemorate Easter, marking the end of Lent fasting.
The senatorial hopeful under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 election called on Christians in Ibadan South West, Oyo South Senatorial District, and Oyo State to reflect on the significance and true essence of Easter.
He said the crucifixion of Jesus Christ stands as the ultimate demonstration of love—not born of obligation, but of deep, voluntary compassion for humanity.
Hon. Fowokanmi, Chairman of the Committee on Tertiary Institutions in the Oyo State House of Assembly, disclosed that Jesus gave up everything and sacrificed himself to give people everlasting life.
He admonished Christians to imbibe the spirit of love beyond convenience, selflessness, service, and sacrifice in their endeavors to justify Jesus’ love and sacrifice.
Reaffirming his commitment to a people-driven agenda for the Oyo South Senatorial District, Fowokanmi promised to prioritize the promotion of legislation and policies that will make life worth living and bring inclusive development to the people.
The lawmaker extended his greetings to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and other Christian religious bodies in Ibadan South West, Oyo South, and Oyo State, wishing them a joyous Easter celebration.
