The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Mpumalanga Province, South Africa, Hon. Dr. Oluwatosin Ojo, has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Gov. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his resounding victory in the Saturday, June 20, 2026, governorship election.
Gov. Oyebanji emerged victorious with a total of 319,224 votes, defeating his closest rival, Dr. Wole Oluyede of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 40,543 votes.
Dr. Ojo described the victory as a reflection of the confidence and trust the people of Ekiti State have in the leadership of Gov. Oyebanji, noting that the governor’s achievements during his first term are visible and unprecedented.
According to him, the overwhelming support from Ekiti people is a clear indication that the governor’s administration has made a positive impact across various sectors.
He stated that Gov. Oyebanji’s re-election has placed him in history as the first Ekiti State governor to serve two consecutive terms, describing him as a record breaker.
The obstetrician and gynecologist expressed confidence that the second term of Gov. Oyebanji would provide an opportunity for the completion of ongoing developmental projects and further strengthen the economic stability of the state.
Dr. Ademola Ojo also congratulated the people of Ekiti State for the peaceful and successful conduct of the election, commending their commitment to democratic values.
He further called on other political parties and candidates to embrace peace and support the administration of Gov. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, stressing that the progress of Ekiti remains the collective responsibility of all citizens.
“Ekiti is our only land, and the development of the state should be above every political interest,” he added.
