Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has assured the people of Ijebuland that a new Awujale of Ijebuland will emerge before May 29, 2027, as he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to a peaceful and transparent succession process.

Abiodun gave the assurance in a post on his X handle following a stakeholders’ meeting held in Ijebu-Ode on Tuesday, where issues concerning traditional institutions, infrastructure development, economic opportunities, and the progress of his administration were discussed.

“We reassured the good people of Ijebuland that, by God’s grace, a new Awujale will emerge before May 29, 2027,” the governor said.

He added that the government remained committed to ensuring a succession process that would preserve the dignity of the traditional institution and promote unity across Ijebuland.

“We remain committed to ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and widely acceptable succession process that preserves the dignity of the revered stool and the unity of Ijebuland,” Abiodun said.

The governor also highlighted investment opportunities expected to boost economic activities in Ogun East Senatorial District, particularly crude oil exploration around Eba Island, the proposed Gateway Deep-Sea Port in Ogun Waterside, and the Blue Marine Special Economic Zone.

“These strategic investments are expected to attract industries, create employment opportunities, and position Ogun State as a major hub for maritime trade, logistics, and industrial development,” he said.

Abiodun expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Federal Government’s continued support for critical infrastructure and investment initiatives in Ogun State.

“We appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the Federal Government’s continued support towards critical infrastructure and investment initiatives in our state,” the governor said. Access Services

“We equally commend our traditional leaders, marketmen and women, Baales, Olorituns, hunters, and other stakeholders for their constructive engagement, continued cooperation, and support for our administration,” he said.

The governor said his administration would focus on consolidating its achievements, attracting further investments, and securing a prosperous future for residents as it approaches the end of its tenure.

“As we approach the conclusion of our tenure, we remain focused on consolidating our achievements, attracting more investments and securing a prosperous future for the good people of Ogun State,” Abiodun added.
