It was a joyous moment for Ibadan’s most flamboyant senior chief, Oloye Lekan Alabi when he was promoted from Agba Akin Olubadan to Ekefa Olubadan by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji.
The promotion ceremony was held on Friday at the monarch’s Palace located at Popo-Yemoja Area, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State of Nigeria.

Oloye Alabi,who is the first Culture Ambassador of the National Museum and Monument, Ile Ife, was installed the Mogaji Oyetunji Olundegun Family of Ile Oye, SW2/486, Isale ‘Jebu, Ibadan, by the 38th Olubadan of Ibadanland, the late Oba Emmanuel Adeyemo, Operinde 1, on 31st November,1994, and was first promoted Jagun Olubadan in the Olubadan Traditional Chieftaincy Line, by the 39th Olubadan of Ibadanland, the late Oba Yunusa Bankole Oladoja Ogundipe, Arapasowu 1,on 12th December,2002.
The proprietor of Splash 105.5 and Lagelu 96.7 FM Radio Station, Chief Adebayo Akande was also one of those promoted at the event.
