The recipient, a young graduate of Business Administration from Olabisi Onabanjo Ogun State University has her temple in Ikotun, Lagos, is a native of Ilesha, Osun State, but born and brought up in Lagos.

While speaking with newsmen in Ile-Ife moments after her coronation, the Yemoja Afomidara said she was born into a Christian family, but possesses mystical powers from birth to deliver people from afflictions.

“I was born into a Christian family but was born different with some special and great signs. I have been given vision and been delivering people from their afflictions right from when I was three years old”.

“Our faith is based on Oshun which is commonly called the river orisha, or goddess, in the Yoruba religion and is typically associated with water, purity, fertility. She is considered one of the most powerful of all orishas, and, like other gods, she possesses human attributes such as vanity, jealousy.

“I’m dedicating this honour to my family and clients with whom I share the same belief as you know that water is considered a mother, while fire is seen as a prolific generator. The place of water as a life‐giving and life‐sustaining element is very high. It was considered a cleanser of sins and regarded as a divine protector”, said the Yemoja Afomidara.
