- Issues Communiqué On State Of The Nation After 3rd Quarterly Grand Executive Council Meeting
The Grand Council of Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide has joined other well-meaning Nigerians in thanking God for the recovery and safe return of President Muhammadu Buhari back to the country. The council also advised the President to be sensitive and responsive to the meaningful yearnings of the people.
This was disclosed in a communiqué issued at the end of 3rd Grand Executive Council meeting of Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide held at the organization’s headquarters, located at Mafikuyomi Square, Wakajaye between Friday, 25th and Sunday, 27th August, 2017.
The council meeting, which was presided over by the Founder and Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen Worldwide, Alhaji Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke (JP), recommended that the Federal Government should consider devolution of powers and responsibilities to States and Local Governments for rapid socio-economic development in the country.
The council also noted that there is need to beef up the country’s intelligence network in order to forestall issues of kidnapping, ritual killings, and the resurging waves of Boko Haram attacks.
The communiqué reads, “that, just like the heart in the human system, security should be second to none in the priorities of all tiers of Government (Federal, State and Local). The council therefore noted the need to beef up our intelligence network such that Security threats as evidence in kidnapping, ritual killings, and the resurging waves of Boko Haram attacks at soft targets are pre-empted and forestalled.
“That, at this trying period of our national history, where some ethnic groups are clamoring for session, Nigeria’s peaceful co-existence and national cohesion are not negotiable. Therefore the Council advised the politicians, the Media, and ethnic nationalities to the mindful of hate speeches, propaganda, and sensational news that can heat up the polity and lead to national disintegration.
“That, for Nigeria to achieve the desired development, the need for economic restructuring can not be overemphasized, the Council therefore recommended that the Federal Government should consider devolution of power and responsibilities to States and Local Governments for rapid socio-economic development. More so, Local Government autonomy will help engender political and economic development at the grass root.
“The Council observed with dismay, the apparent lip service by the Federal Government to the anti-graft War, whereas it is yet to be established that government truly has zero tolerance for corruption. Therefore, the council raised the alarm that corruption will continue to thrive and be celebrated in Nigeria if serious penalties are not attached to cases of corruption.
“That the council felicitated heartily with the Grand Amirah, Sharafudeen In Islam Worldwide, Alhaja S.F.Olagoke on the celebration of her 69th birthday and sincerely appreciated her exemplary life and epitomizing motherly care for all and sundry in the organization worldwide. In the same vein, the “Council heartily rejoiced with Shafaudeen Association of Concerned Mothers on the occasion of their Annual Week. The council therefore uses the medium to implore Government at all levels to see aging as a challenging and the aged who had used their youthful ages to contribute to national development as a people deserving special needs and attention.
“While reiterating that all members of the organization shall continue to be advocates and models for peace and unity in Nigeria and beyond, the Council rejoiced with the nation and the Presidency and thank God for the recovery and safe return of the President Muhammadu Buhari. The Council however, advised that the President should be sensitive and responsive to meaningful quests and voices and beware of anti-people policies.”
