As the whole country awaits the installation of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland by Oyo’s Governor ‘Seyi Makinde on Friday, the family left behind by one time governor of the state, Alhaji (Dr) Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina, has joined others to send congratulatory note to the new monarch, the people of the ancient city and indeed, the whole state.
In a special statement signed and sent to PMParrot by the scion of the late politician, Dr Ayobami Wasiu Lam-Adesina, the family hailed the Olubadan-designate for his tenacity of purpose.
Lam-Adesina then went ahead to salute all the well-meaning people of the state including Governor ‘Seyi Makinde who ensured that the tradition of Ibadanland remains the envy of all because of the orderliness it represents.
The family also prayed for long life and sound health for the new Olubadan adding that “may our land continue to experience more prosperity, more peace and tranquility during Oba Olakulehin’s reign.
“We also wish to congratulate all the people of Ibadanland on the occasion of the official commissioning of the new ultra-modern palace of our paramount ruler.”
Meanwhile, arrangements are already being concluded for the official coronation of Oba Olakulehin on Friday. The epochal event holds at the historical Mapo Hall located in the very heart of Ibadanland.
