In spite of their impressive win over visiting Enugu Rangers in the Confederation of Africa Football Champions League, Zamalek coach Mohamed Helmy insists that his side is not yet sure of their place in the next round of the competition.
The White Knights cruised to a 4-1 home win over the Nigerian side in Cairo on Sunday, putting one foot in the next round of the competition
Helmy expressed his satisfaction at Zamalek’s showing: “Thanks to the players, they showed great quality and massive responsibility against Rangers,” he was quoted by King Fut.
However, the coach added that there is still a return leg match to be played and warned that his side should not count their chickens yet.
“We should not forget that we have a second match against Rangers, we have not qualified yet,” said Helmy.
“The second leg requires more concentration to guarantee the qualification to the next round.”
Rangers will host Zamalek in Nigeria for the return leg on Sunday, 19 March.
