Former Super Eagles striker, Osaze Odemwingie was on song twice in Madura United’s 3-1 win over Persib Bandung in an Indonesian Liga-1 game on Sunday afternoon.
Former West Bromwich Albion has now taken his tally to 11 in 11 league games. The game at the Stadion Gelora Bangkalan was Odemwingie’s 10th start in eleven league appearances.
Odemwingie’s first goal came in the 21st minute from the penalty spot and he completed his brace in the 66th minute with an assist from Nigerian-born Indonesian international, Gregory Nwokolo.
Nwokolo himself then scored Madura’s third goal of the game three minutes before the full time.
Persib had before Nwokolo’s strike scored what proved only a consolation in the 82nd minute from Raphael Maitimo.
Persib also paraded former Ghana international, Michael Essein.
The win hands Madura 25 points and into second place in the table with one point behind Persatuan Sepakbola Makassar.
