Former President of Nigeria Football Association, Col. Abdulmumini Aminu (Rtd), has been saddled with the responsibility to reconcile Nigeria Football Federation warring factions within two weeks as a head of a committee appointed by the Sports ministry.

Aminu heads the committee inaugurated by Sports minister, Solomon Dalung that include two former NFF bosses, Alh. Ibrahim Galadima and Anthony Kojo Williams, Prof.Onje GyeWado, Dr Sam Sam.Jaja: (Life Member, NFF Board) and Dr Bolaji Ojo Oba

Speaking while Inaugurating what he called Elder Stakeholders Reconciliation Committee on Monday in Abuja Dalung said: “The management crisis that has for some time now engulfed the Nigeria Football Federation is of great concern to the Federal Government, a concern shared by eminent stakeholders in the country. The concern stems from the fact that the lingering crisis has impeded the desired growth and development of football in the country.

“The inauguration of this committee today marks yet another milestone in our collective efforts to rescue Nigerian Football and set it on a path of sustainable growth let us not delude ourselves; the task of this Committee is enormous and fraught with many insidious pitfalls. In carrying out this assignment, enemies of football will accuse you of taking sides but I have no doubt in my mind that as Elders, you will rise above all these and discharge your responsibility dispassionately” Dalung stressed

Speaking further, the minister said the Terms of References of the Committee are to Identify causes of the current leadership crisis in the Nigeria Football Federation; Evaluate the dimensions of the leadership crisis and the contribution of actors to the issue; Invite actors in the leadership crisis namely the Chris Giwa-led and Amaju Pinnick-led Boards to the reconciliation table with a view to addressing their concerns towards achieving a sustainable and win-win solution to the crisis.
