The gubernatorial flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has expressed sadness over the demise of the Iyalode of Ibadanland, Alhaja Aminat Abiodun while lauding the deceased.
In a statement from his campaign organisation and signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde disclosed that while alive, she deployed her charisma, wealth, courage and personality to enhance the socio/ cultural quality of Ibadan land and upheld the long held tradition of a people known for their liberal coexistence with others who reside in the sprawling land of opportunities.
He posited that the Iyalode will be sorely missed at a period like this when our people are poised to take crucial decisions that will affect the political landscape of Oyo state.
The PDP flagbearer condoled with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Olubadan in council of which the deceased was a member, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII and the entire people of the great city and pray that May God give the family fortitude to bear the loss.
