Wives of governors of the South West geopolitical zone of Nigeria have risen up in support of the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo ahead of the February 16 Presidential Election.
The group, under the aegis of Women and Youth Presidential Campaign Team, met behind closed doors to plan on how to deliver for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the six states of the zone.
The three hours meeting, held at Lagos House Alausa, Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria, had the First Lady of Ondo State, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, other delegates from Ondo State and the South West woman leader, Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson in attendance.
Others are: Her Excellency, Dr (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi of Oyo State, who is also the Coordinator of the team, Her Excellency, Mrs Funsho Amosun of Ogun State, Her Excellency, Mrs Bolanle Ambode of Lagos State and Her Excellencies, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola and Erelu Bisi Fayemi of Osun and Ekiti respectively.
Also present in the strategic meeting were former first ladies in the South West region, and APC women leaders of each state represented.
Addressing Newsmen after the meeting, some of the delegates at the meeting revealed that they have been equipped with results-oriented strategies to mobilize women and youth of the south west for Buhari/Osinbajo’s reelection.
