Flying Eagles striker, Success Makanjuola is confident that Nigeria will be a much improved team when they take on their Round of 16 opponents at the ongoing 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.

The Flying Eagles will face either Italy or Senegal in the Round of 16 after emerging as one of the four best third-placed team in the group stages of the tournament.

The Flying Eagles held Ukraine to a 1-1 draw in their last Group D to finish third on four points. Ukraine won the group with seven points, while USA finished second on six points. Qatar placed fourth without any point.

Danyle Sikan put Ukraine ahead in Bielsko-Biala on Thursday after 30 minutes but Muhamed Tijani drew the Flying Eagles level in the 51st minute from spot kick.

“I was very happy when I was named in the starting line up by the coach. Paul Aigbogun told me to go into the pitch and showcase my talent to the world and I had no chance but to justify my inclusion,” Makanjuola who was named the man-of-the-match said during his post-match interview.

“We were determined to win, but unfortunately, we didn’t get it right in the final third.

“We are ready to take on any team in this knockout stage. It will be tough, but I must admit we are capable.”
