Wema Bank branches in Ekiti State, weekend, staged a football competition at the Olukayode Oluyemi Stadium in Ado Ekiti to help promote unity as well as keep themselves fit.
Four teams were formed to achieve the purpose of the programme by the authorities of the banking institution in the state.
The lists of the four teams included Team ALAT, Team IGNITE, Team X 945 and Team Double In 2.
From the two matches played, Team ALAT slogged it out with Team IGNITE while Team X 945 faced Team Double In 2. In the first match, Team IGNITE defeated Team ALAT with 2 – 1 score line while Team X 945 and Team Double In 2 ended goalless. Tope Oluwadare and Kayode Akinlabi helped Team IGNITE to carry the day while Ranti Oyewole scored the only goal for the Team ALAT.
In separate interviews with the Business Development Managers for the branches of Bank at Okesa ( Mr. Rotimi Famuware) and Orereowu ( Mr. Tope Oluwadare) in Ado Ekiti, they commended the efforts of the top management of the Bank for encouraging the staff members in the state to engage themselves in a keep fit exercise.
They expressed optimism that the purpose for the programme which originally is to create closeness among all the staffers of the banking institution in Ekiti State is already achieved with the conclusion of the two matches played.
In their words, “Wema Bank is going to come alive again when a new football league is opened in the state. We already have a strong and one formidable team that can challenge any other team in the state. We are going to make sure Wema Bank participates in the next league in the state”, they submitted.
