Former Nigeria international and Spartak Moscow’s new signing, Victor Moses is delighted to start his loan deal with the Russian side on a winning note.

Moses took to his Twitter handle on Sunday after Spartak’s 3-2 win over Khimki, the club of Super Eagles defender Bryan Idowu, in the Russian Premier League.

The player, who joined the People’s Team on a season-long loan from Chelsea, last Wednesday, replaced Nail Umyarov in the 55th minute for his first appearance in the Russian Premier League with his side down by a goal.

The 29-year-old played a key role as he helped Spartak fight back to win the maximum three points.

Reacting to his winning debut, a delighted Moses said he hoped that the win was the first of many to come.

“Delighted to make my debut for this great club! Great to start with a win yesterday (Saturday), hopefully, the start of many folded hands.”

Meanwhile, General Director of the club, Shamil Gazizov, stated in an interview with Sport Express that the Nigerian took a pay cut to join the Russian side.

“The footballer (Moses) wants to play for Spartak. This is the most important point. And everything else in particular. He did not come here to earn money,” Gazizov said.
