Nigeria international, Ogenyi Onazi has signed a one-year deal with an option of another with Lithuanian topflight club FK Zalgiris.
He becomes the second Nigerian at the club after Philip Otele. His fans have since been hailing the move.
Onazi joins his fifth career club after he parted company with SonderjyskE in January by mutual agreement after four months.
He had previously featured for Lazio, Trabzonspor, Denzilispor and SonderjyskE.
“Happy to announce Onazi’s signing to FK Zalgiris. The comeback is always stronger than the setback. Good luck with your new teammates Ona,” his agent Ayo Makinwa wrote on Instagram Thursday night.
The 27-year-old who made his debut for the Eagles against Liberia in October 2012 has been capped 51 times by the three-time African champions.
He has not featured for Gernot Rohr’s side since 2018 due to fitness issues.
