As part of plans to reduce rate of unemployment and enhance capacity building, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has equipped young girls with sowing machines after the completion of their vocational training.

The Monarch who expressed his heartfelt gratitude over the successes recorded through the initiative since its inception five years ago further applauded sponsors and partners including the International Breweries, Ilesa (Makers of Trophy Lager Beer) for their support.

While speaking at the event, the first class monarch said, “I wish to call on governments at all levels and well-meaning Nigerians to direct huge resources in this line in order to create opportunities for younger people.

“When I started about six years ago, my intention was to create chances for all able-bodied young persons to breakthrough either in education or vocation. So, I awarded scholarship to indigent students, train others in several vocations including fashion designing among others”.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Miss Oluwaseun appreciated the Monarch for the intervention, stating that it came when she almost lost focus in life.

She said, “All I want to say is a very big thank you to the King for what he has done for us, we really appreciate this kind gesture and we pledge to make the very best out of this uncommon opportunity.”

Responding on behalf of International Breweries, Ilesa, the organization’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Adewole Lawal, stated that the Ooni’s initiative will make life better for all, in relation to the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
