It is no longer news that Nollywood stars, Lateef Adedimeji and Bimpe Oyebade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, tied the nuptial knot some days ago.
However, the event was held in an elegant manner, and social media was bombarded with pictures and videos of the lovebirds.
Though they consistently denied being an item, fans had long suspected that the duo was in a relationship. Their relationship also provided constant fodder for gossip columns and blogs.
However, in confirmation of what was already an open secret, the actors announced to the world that they would get married this month.
The celebrities announced on their social media pages that their traditional and Islamic wedding (Nikkai) ceremonies would come up on Saturday, December 18 and 22, 2021, respectively. After the revelation, they continued to treat their fans and social media users to romantic photos and videos before their wedding and afterwards.
The traditional leg of the celebrity wedding took place at Ijero-Ekiti in Ekiti State on Saturday, December 18. A Nikhai followed on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in Ikeja, Lagos State.
Some of the celebrities in attendance were Toyin Abraham, Kolawole Ajeyemi, Nkechi Blessing, Mercy Aigbe, Adunni Ade, Wumi Toriola, Femi Adebayo, Yetunde Bakare, Odunlade Adekola and Tunde Kelani.
In a recent interview, Adedimeji claimed that he only started dating Mo Bimpe in March, 2021. The actor stated that rumours that they were dating began as a result of their closeness which was due to their friendship and the number of works they had done together. According to him, both of them never saw the relationship coming until recently.
Meanwhile, days after the wedding, celebrity stylist, Toyin Lawani, revealed how popular actress, Toyin Abraham (Ajeyemi), paid for Mo Bimpe’s wedding dress. Lawani wrote on Instagram, “Mo Bimpe’s wedding dress, designed by the fashion goddess via @elegantebytiannah styling courtesy of Toyin Abraham. I was just randomly discussing with her that I was making three dresses for Bimpe and I was so busy this time. Next thing she said, ‘ah she’s my goddaughter o, let me pay for her wedding dress. And you know I charge millions. So, she did the transfer, boom! And I made this masterpiece happen. Thanks, Toyin, you are a wonderful friend…”
Speaking after the wedding, Adedimeji said, “The grace of the almighty is sufficient. Today, I marry my best friend.”
His wife, Mo Bimpe, also said, “Today, I married my best friend.”
