The news of the demise of ace juju musician, Wonder Dayo Kujore has been announced by family sources – and one of his colleagues, Dele Taiwo has been mourning.
Hours after, the singer’s widow reportedly confirmed the death.
It was reliably gathered that the singer was confirmed dead at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Ikeja, Lagos on Monday morning.
Dayo Kujore was born on April 4, 1958 in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
He would have turned 64 on April 4, 2022.
He began playing the guitar at 10 and rose to become popular for creating a new tune from the Juju genre called Soko music.
Some of his released albums include Elevation, Wisdom, Joy, Easy Life, and the popular Soko Xtra.
Dele Taiwo, the funky juju creator in a chat with PMParrot said the news of the demise of the veteran musician left him speechless.
“I really do not know what to say. I am short of words. Why now? Why Egbon Dayo Kujore?
Gentleman Dele Taiwo continued “All I will say is that I wish to use this opportunity to commiserate with the family he left behind. I also console members of the entertainment industry too. This loss is too shocking. May his soul rest in peace.
